The Classroom Educator/Associate Part 1 Level coursework meets the requirements for the Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator designation with the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA), as well as Part 1 of the Associate Level. It is the first step in preparing educators to use the OG approach in both the classroom setting as well as 1:1. Teachers will use direct instruction to bring a multi-sensory, structured, and linguistic phonics-based approach into the mainstream classroom and tiered support settings.

This event will provide new teachers with the strategies essential for a successful start to their teaching careers. The institute will also allow participants to begin building the foundations for long and successful careers in independent schools.

The first few years of teaching in an independent school can be challenging. This event provides guidance, support, and the opportunity to practice planning and instructional skills with a small peer group led by an experienced independent school educator.

SLI is an intensive, three-day residential program that will help you better understand your own leadership style and identify your strengths as well as areas for growth in five key facets of independent school leadership.

The Teaching Foundations program is designed to support the growth and success of all teachers—particularly those in their early years at independent schools—by focusing on foundational areas of teaching.

The Associate Level coursework is designed to hone the trainee's ability to provide diagnostic and prescriptive instruction in a one-to-one remedial setting. In addition, it exposes the trainee to more sophisticated levels of language instruction than can be provided in the Classroom Educator course.

This one-day summer institute for middle- and high-school educators will focus on building an understanding of executive functioning and give space and opportunity for designing and refining assessments.
