Investing in professional development — for administrators, faculty, and staff— is a great way to start the new year. Several of NAIS’s institutes open for registration in January.
The Institute for New Heads will be held July 10-16 in Atlanta. This five-day residential program for professionals starting their first or second year of headship helps participants build a strong peer network, acquire an understanding of the essential tasks of headship, and develop a vast well of resources.
The first School Leadership Team Experience, which was held this past summer, was such a success that NAIS is bringing it back. This year’s institute will be held July 31-August 2, at the Bolger Center in Potomac, Maryland. It will feature a similar format, bringing together school teams of three to five individuals in leadership positions — including heads— to focus on collaboration and capacity building. The School Leadership Institute will be held July 25-28 at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. This three-day intensive residential program is designed to help participants better understand their leadership styles and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
The Diversity Leadership Institute will be held June 25-July 1 at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. This weeklong intensive residential program gives participants the tools to lead and manage school change and to transform schools into inclusive learning communities.
