To assist in learning about the variety of independent private school choices available to families, NAIS provides this searchable database of member schools. The database contains schools located across the United States and in several other countries around the world.
Families considering their educational options should begin with the widest possible selection of choices and narrow them after thorough review of each school's educational philosophy, curricular and extracurricular offerings, and any other factors of specific importance to each family -- a large or small institution, a single-sex or coed environment, or a day or boarding school.

Through the NAIS Parent Guide, you can also connect with an educational search consultant from the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA) for a counseling session that can further guide you in making a school choice for your child.
Membership Types:
Full Member – Independent, non-profit schools that have received full accreditation from an accrediting program approved by NAIS. Full members have voting rights.
Provisional Member – Independent, non-profit schools in the process of meeting all NAIS requirements for full membership.
Premium Subscriber – Independent, proprietary schools in the U.S. that are unable to meet the requirements for membership. International schools may also be premium school subscribers.
International Subscriber – Independent, non-profit schools located outside of the U.S.
Multi-Campus School – A satellite of member and subscriber schools with more than one campus. |
