About the NAIS Presidential Search With the announcement of Donna Orem’s June 2023 retirement, the presidential search committee partnered with the executive search and talent solutions firm Korn Ferry to launch the search for the next NAIS president. We are committed to conducting a comprehensive search and gathering a wide range of feedback, all with the goal of identifying a leader who best serves the mission of NAIS and the diverse needs of all of our schools. The search involves the following phases: Member Feedback: In the first phase of the search process, from June to August, we gathered feedback and candidate recommendations from nearly 500 individuals from NAIS member and subscriber schools, as well as NAIS board and staff members. Active Recruitment: Using the feedback we received, in mid-August we finalized a position description. We are confident that it demonstrates what we are looking for in our next leader. In the eight weeks of the active recruiting phase, the search committee and Korn Ferry will recruit and develop a candidate slate, followed by several rounds of interviews throughout the fall. To evaluate candidates, we will use a leadership assessment tool customized to NAIS’s needs and organizational culture. While we ask for applications by early October, the search is never complete until the best leader is secured. Send your cover letter and résumé as well as suggestions for candidates by email to [email protected]. Presidential Transition: We aim to name a new president in late winter or early spring of 2023. The new president will work with Donna Orem to ensure a smooth transition as she retires at the end of June 2023. We look forward to celebrating with you Donna’s many contributions as well. The search committee will keep NAIS schools updated throughout the search process. Thank you for your ongoing contributions to this process!
