COVID-19 Safety Protocols for NAIS Events During the Pandemic

Updated June 14, 2022

The safety of our community is a top priority at NAIS. To help keep participants healthy and comfortable during NAIS events, we will be implementing the following COVID safety protocols.

Vaccination Requirement

Attendees must be fully vaccinated according to the CDC’s definition to attend NAIS events. Participants will be asked to document proof of vaccination using the CrowdPass platform before the event. We strongly encourage all attendees to receive the COVID-19 booster(s) if they are eligible.

Registrants who are unable to meet the vaccination requirement two weeks or more before the event will be asked to submit evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before the start of the event.

Mask Requirement

All participants at NAIS events are strongly encouraged to wear masks indoors (except when actively eating, drinking, or presenting).

If Experiencing Symptoms

Any participant who feels ill or who tests positive on a COVID test is asked to stay home from the event.

Comfort Level

To help attendees communicate their level of comfort in interacting with one another, NAIS will provide color-coded stickers that participants may affix to their badges to communicate their comfort level:
  • Red: Please greet me from six feet.
  • Yellow: Elbow shakes and fist bumps are OK.
  • Green: I’m comfortable with handshakes and high-fives.

Continued Planning

Please note that these procedures may change as pandemic conditions evolve. We will continue to evaluate conditions and will work with state and local public health agencies and the venues hosting our events.

This page will be updated periodically. In addition, NAIS will communicate with registrants before each event to help them prepare for their arrival at the event.
