About the Event

Learn essential strategies for helping all children and adolescents with school-related anxiety. Speaker Jonathan Dalton will discuss the foundation of childhood anxiety disorders and the central role that avoidance plays in the development and maintenance of these disorders. He will focus on specific strategies that educators can use to help reduce the suffering of those living with anxiety as well as which strategies to avoid. Join us to hear how and when to appropriately use positive reinforcement and why to avoid the use of reassurance. Our goal is to help teachers start the year with solid strategies as student anxiety begins to appear – and maybe avoid some well-intentioned missteps.
