Dr. David Hanson joined Phillips Exeter Academy (New Hampshire) as chief financial officer in 2014. Previously, he was the chief financial officer, senior vice president, and chief operating officer at Virginia Commonwealth University.  He also served as the assistant vice president for administration at Emory University.
