CSEE Workshop: Beyond the Basics: Building a Positive Board Culture to Support the Head's Well-Being

For a head of school to have a healthy relationship with the board, the board needs to operate within a positive board culture, assuring debate, discussion and disagreement over critical issues. This session will explore the psychology of various group behaviors that erode healthy debate and prevent boards from operating at their most effective levels. There will be discussions on creating a safe board environment in which disagreements are welcomed and values accepted, along with guidelines for the head’s role in educating the board.
