About the Event

The Southern Historical Association's 92nd Annual Meeting runs November 5–8, 2026, at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta. Founded in 1934, the SHA supports the teaching of southern history at every educational level, and is committed to the idea that southern history is inseparable from the larger narrative of American history. For K-12 teachers, the meeting offers sessions, workshops, roundtables, poster presentations, tours, and networking. A highlight is the SHA Public Square, an exhibit-hall learning commons where local groups share how history education is unfolding in their communities. Attendees will explore new research on Southern history and history education while connecting with historians and fellow educators from across the South and beyond.
