Norfolk Academy
Our most cherished tradition is our Honor Code. Each member of the Norfolk Academy community commits to behaving honorably in all school activities and programs. Being truthful helps build a community of trust. It is in this environment that the Honor System helps students and all members of our community strengthen and advance their ethical development and their capacity to make sound, moral, and mature decisions about matters of right and wrong. From the simple statement of the Honor Code in the Lower School: “We do our own work; we tell the truth; and we do not take things that belong to others” to the Middle and Upper School pledge: “I pledge that I have acted honorably in completing this assignment,” the Honor System’s goal is to instill a deep sense of honor in each student and in the Norfolk Academy community as a whole.
