The School’s mission is: “To nurture a diverse community in the Episcopal tradition, fostering spiritual growth, moral responsibility, academic excellence, and artistic and athletic pursuits, while preparing for a life of service to our community and the world.” St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is an independent, coeducational, preparatory day school serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. St. Andrew’s strives to enroll students of good character who give evidence of being able to benefit from a challenging learning experience. More than 1,000 students of diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds currently attend St. Andrew’s. The School’s academic goal is to provide its students with an education as good as that offered by the best independent schools in the nation. Typically, 100 percent of St. Andrew’s graduates attend four-year colleges and universities. Founded in 1947, the School occupies two campuses. The South Campus houses Foundations (infants through 3-year-olds), Early Childhood (Pre-K3, Pre-K4, and Kindergarten), and the Lower School (grades 1- 4) in Jackson, and the North Campus houses the Middle School (grades 5-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12) in Ridgeland. The School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and belongs to the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES), and is affiliated with the state’s public and parochial schools through the Mississippi High School Activities Association. St. Andrew’s continues its historic affiliation with St. Andrew’s Cathedral as part of the church’s ministry to the Jackson area. St. Andrew’s admits students without regard to race, religion, creed, color, gender, age, physical challenge, or national origin. The School does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid program, athletic programs, or other school-administered programs.
