About the Research Clearinghouse

The NAIS Research Clearinghouse is a members-only service designed to bring you the latest studies to inform strategic decisions about teaching and learning and management and leadership of schools. The Clearinghouse features NAIS-sponsored research, plus relevant studies conducted by other organizations like the National Center for Education Statistics and the Pew Research Center.

Recent reports include: 

NAIS has partnered with the National School Climate Center and the Winston Preparatory School to survey independent school students on health and well-being. Anxiety and depression were the most cited wellness issues by students.

In August 2015, NAIS surveyed a number of global education program leaders and deans of schools to learn more about the current trends and challenges related to developing such programs.

Study conducted by the Capstone Program at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education to study the factors affecting school board effectiveness.

This dissertation by Harold Eugene Batiste III, Ed.D., executive director of Independent Education in Washington, D.C. is based on a qualitative study of the development of relational trust during the first year of headship in independent schools.
